Tomorrow marks the first week of my internship down aka 40 hours DONE.
Omgsh I never thought I'd be working out so much it's crazy but I do love it because I know it's all worth it. Right now it is actually pretty freezing in Florida. I have my ceiling fans on the lowest setting and the A/C off and I'm still freezing. Really missing my other cuddle buddy right about meow but Boss and Caesar are my battle buddies. "I've been prepared".
Being in Florida is refreshing. I miss my family and friends a lot but I love the alone time if that's weird enough to say. Being able to do this just makes me feel that much stronger of a person. A lot of the members at our fitness center ask if I'm lonely or if I was scared or why I chose somewhere so far and honestly I did it for me. Because I'm young and not married and without kids. Because one day when I get to have all of those things I can look back and have stories to tell my children and experiences to grow from, that will make me a better wife and mother.
I'm lucky to have Mitch's family 15 minutes away though. His younger brother and sister are the best and his parents are one of the few that I feel like I can count on! And I live so close to everything. I'm right off the highway so Tampa is like a 25 minute drive. I am literally walking distance from the mall called Shops at Wiregrass. It's an outdoor mall with restaurants and bars. Kind of like a Shops at Legacy but cooler! I have trails to run on. There's palm trees everywhere. I can take naps on my futon with the patio door open because it normally feels THAT amazing. I'm excited to start getting my paychecks because I'd love some more gas money to hang out at the beach on my weekends off.
I am so thankful for my parents who have done nothing but be super supportive and spoiled me rotten with this opportunity. I wish Boss felt a little better about things though. I recorded him today and he was quiet up until the 8 hr mark. Man I just need him to be patient. My poor little guy. His crying is cute though.
So my schedule varies and it depends on whether it's week A or week B. Some days I come in early and others I am a later arrival. It's nice but I actually love the early shifts because I feel like I have an entire day to do things and spend time with Boss.
I have gotten to teach a few people some workout tricks and trained some members as well. I love the feeling I get when they seem super excited to have learned a new workout and say thank you to me. Or when I teach them about something nutritious that they've never heard before. Or when I see how hard some people are working to reach goals and how badly they want it. The fact that these people who sit in chairs all day, talk on phones, deal with customer complaints etc. are able to take one of their short breaks or come in early or after their shift is inspiring. They inspire me. They care about their bodies and their health and not all of them have rockstar bodies but they're trying and that makes my heart melt. So if these people are making time for it, surely you can take those commercials during whatever show you're watching and do a little challenge yourself.
TRY THIS:
During every commercial break pick one thing to do...
20 Burpees
20 Sit ups
20 Mountain Climbers
20 Jumping Jacks
20 Squats
Wall Sit until show is back on!
I have been learning so much and getting such great experience already. I am worn out though...biked a total of 27 miles this week. And worked in with different members...abs, chest/tris, back/bis, etc....even when I am trying to rest I get up because I want to help them get a good workout in too. So I'm forced to workout and I LOVE IT.
Ciao xoxo,
Cheyenne Peluso
